The obsession with racing is strong in the lives of three young friends. They share a house nearby in Laurel Canyon, where their relaxed lifestyle includes jam sessions, parties, beautiful girls, beer, and racing Mulholland. Observing, resenting and envying their lives, Cal a forty-year-old spaced-out boozer, who watches them race and relives in his mind the days when he was "King of the Mountain"
